In January, Knoxville-Knox County Planning voted to send Recode Knoxville to City Council for consideration.
Two workshops were held in February to enable in-depth discussion of specific topics.
City Council held a workshop to address details and concerns about non-residential zones. This included commercial, office, and industrial uses. A presentation was given by Planning’s Executive Director, Gerald Green, and is available below.
City Council held another workshop on residential zones, including single-family, multi-family, and general residential zones. A CTV recording of the workshop is available and the presentation are available below.
In addition to the discussions about specific zones, it was also decided to send a notice to all property owners in the City of Knoxville to inform them that City Council will soon vote on the updated ordinance. The notice informs property owners that they can submit comments on the draft map, or contact their City Council representative at 865-215-2075. Property owners can also contact Knoxville-Knox County Planning at 865-215-3928 with questions about the process or any impact on their property.
Another workshop will be held by Council will be held later this spring, though no date has been set.
