The Recode Knoxville Technical Report was the focus of the second major community meeting on September 19, 2017.
Another round of meetings for Recode Knoxville were held on September 19 and 20. These focused on the recently released draft Technical Report.
The Technical Report is an in depth review of the City of Knoxville’s current zoning regulations and serves as guideposts for upcoming drafts of the City’s new zoning code.
The July Stakeholder Advisory Committee brought community members together to review an upcoming report and discuss responses to the the first community survey.
Knoxville area residents, workers and business owners jumped at the chance to weigh in on the City’s zoning ordinance update. A recent survey addressed a variety of issues and topics across the City, related to neighborhoods, commercial areas, transportation and sustainability. The survey was open from June 19 – July 12, 2017 and received 1,638 responses.
May 17 and 18 were busy with meetings for the Recode Knoxville zoning code update. Members of the project team spent those two days presenting an overview of the project to various groups.
The Recode Knoxville Kickoff event was held last night where the project and the consultants were officially introduced.
The first community meeting for the Recode Knoxville zoning code update will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, at Central United Methodist Church, 201 Third Ave.

The City of Knoxville and the Metropolitan Planning Commission have launched a new website for Recode Knoxville, the project to update the City’s zoning code. The Recode Knoxville website, which can be found at www.recodeknoxville.com, will host all information regarding the project.
